Another fine downtown business (JR's Auto Care) featured in this week's edition of The Altavista Journal! Btw, they have a wonderful scarecrow (Scrap-Jack) that you MUST get out of your vehicle and come up close and personal to fully appreciate (or you can visit their page to see him). A lot of love and care went into creating their automotive-specialized scarecrow, just as a lot of love and care goes into their family business. Thank you JR, Kaitlin, and Zach for what you do in our downtown district and our community overall! 😀

"It's Fall Y'all," and AOT's Scarecrow Stroll has been going on for the last week-and-a half following our Rivertown Fest held at the Booker Building on October 3rd. We hope you've noticed the scarecrows hanging out in the downtown district! Just 17 more days to cast your vote for your favorite scarecrow downtown. We urge you to please get out of your vehicles and STROLL through the downtown district (not just drive by) and get up-close and personal with each scarecrow display, as each participating business has put thought and effort into their scarecrows, including some details that you won't appreciate unless you get out of your car and examine their workmanship closely. Paper ballots and ballot boxes are at the following locations: Mainstreetcafe_altavista, Town Hall, and the Staunton River Memorial Library. Ballots and ballot boxes will be collected on Monday, November 2nd, and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter. So, please come downtown, take a stroll around the block or so, and enjoy the scarecrows and the businesses downtown! The holidays are upon us! Peace. +

THANK YOU! 🍂🎸 We are so grateful for all the volunteers, donors, board members, community members, charities, vendors, and neighbors that came out to support AOT today for the 4th Annual Rivertown Fest!

A special thanks to the Town of Altavista employees that we saw today and the Public Works team of Altavista for their event support.

We had some great music from the Tate Tuck Band, cold beverages, delicious food, and some absolutely amazing people join us today!

4th Annual Rivertown Fest! is happening from 1 to 5pm TODAY! It might be raining outside, but we are ready for live music, adult drinks, car show, local food vendors, and more! The majority of the event is taking place inside the Booker Building at English Park of Altavista. Come on down and have some fun while helping support AOT! Admission is only $5!
