Our Library staff have been working hard to get a bike for one of our amazing youth, Loonie Franklin, who is responsible for watering “MAGGIE,” our beloved tree. 🌳💚At our End of Summer Reading Celebration, Loonie spotted a bike he loved, but unfortunately, they were all girl bikes. 🚲But our former Community Member, Onekia Freeman, had a different plan! She stepped up and blessed Loonie with a bike of his own! 🙌❤️
We are so grateful for the kindness, generosity, and love shown by our community. This is what community is all about showing up for one another, spreading kindness, and making a difference in the lives of our youth.
Thank you, Onekia, for helping make this special moment possible! 💚🚲🌳

Maggie the tree is doing amazing! 🌳💚 A huge thank you to Loonie Franklin for making sure Maggie gets all the love and care she needs.
Every day, he comes by and says, "Let me make sure Maggie gets some water today."
One day, he'll grow up and realize that Maggie grew bigger and stronger because of the love and kindness he showed her. What a beautiful reminder that even the smallest acts of care can leave a lasting impact. 💚🌱

Saturday was truly a special day as we celebrated the end of the Summer Reading Challenge at the Main Library. Seeing every branch come together with one shared purpose to serve our community and create lasting memories was electrifying. A heartfelt thank you to the staff from Altheimer, Redfield, Watson Chapel, White Hall, Main & along with the forward thinking leadership of our Director, Mr. Ricky Lee Williams Jr. The hard work, teamwork, and dedication made this celebration possible. It takes a village, and together we showed what the Jefferson County Library System is all about.
To everyone who came out to celebrate with us, thank you for sharing your smiles, laughter, and love of reading. Your support is what makes events like this so meaningful. We hope you had as much fun as we did, and we look forward to making even more wonderful memories together.
Here's to another successful Summer Reading Challenge and to a community that continues to inspire us every day. 📚❤️😊
