🚨 SCAM ALERT🚨

We’ve received reports of scammers calling local residents asking for donations to the Fire Department.

The Fire Department will never call you out of the blue to demand credit card numbers, Social Security information, or immediate payment over the phone. These fraudsters use high-pressure tactics and numbers to look official, but their only goal is to steal your identity and your money.

How to Protect Yourself:
• Hang Up Immediately: You are under no obligation to stay on the line.
• Don’t Trust Caller ID: Scammers can make it look like the call is coming from a local precinct or city office.
• Keep Info Private: Never give out your bank details, address, or birthdate to an unsolicited caller.
• Verify the Source: If you want to support our first responders, contact the department directly through their official website or verified non-emergency number.

Please share this post with your friends, family, and neighbors, especially those who may be more vulnerable to phone scams. Let's keep our community safe!

Starting the 48 with a bang! 🚒🔥

A-Shift hit the ground running this morning, responding to a commercial vehicle fire. Thanks to a rapid response and aggressive attack, crews knocked down the flames before they could reach the tools and equipment in the side compartments. Great stop, fellas!

The training room is ready for a day of education! We are very thankful for these vital pieces of equipment. The equipment is not only innovative but also a game-changer. It gives a patient on cardiac arrest the best chances of survival. While manual CPR has been documented to work over and over again, an automated CPR board can consistently and efficiently compress the chest, resulting in a higher chance of obtaining the return of spontaneous circulation. We keep finding ways to serve better our community, visitors, and the surrounding areas. 🚒

Today, the Alton Fire Department joined forces with the senior class at Mission Collegiate High School for the Shattered Dreams program. With Spring Break just around the corner, this wasn't just an exercise, it was a sobering look at the reality of impaired driving.

Students watched as a simulated crash site unfolded, witnessing the raw, response of our local first responders. From EMS treating the "injured" to the arrival of Judge J.J. Peña and Ric Brown Family Funeral Service, the scenario stripped away the "it won't happen to me" mindset.

This event was made possible through a vital partnership with:
• Doctors Hospital at Renaissance & Driscoll Injury Prevention
• South Texas Health System
• Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office & Pct. 3 Constable’s Office
• The City of Alton Fire and Police Departments
•Med-Care EMS
•956 Towing

A special thank you to the Mission CISD staff and students. Your role-playing and dedication brought this simulation to life, ensuring your peers felt the weight of every decision.

Today was a rehearsal. In the real world, there are no "retakes." As you head into Spring Break, remember: One choice can change, or end, a life forever. Don’t drive impaired.
