One of the best problems a library can have? Books being loved to pieces. New copies of Calvin and Hobbes and The Housemaid are headed to the shelves after their previous copies circulated more than 30 times each. Along with those replacements, watch for a pile of new arrivals coming to the new book section very soon!

The Gilman Library is proud to celebrate a truly special milestone—honoring Holly Brown for 30 years of dedicated service to our community.

Over three decades, Holly has been a steady, welcoming presence at the library, helping guide its growth while keeping its heart firmly rooted in community connection, access, and lifelong learning. From a time of expansion to today, her leadership has shaped the library into the space so many know and love.

To recognize her lasting impact, the library just unveiled a portrait of Holly, which will be permanently displayed in the main area—a tribute to the care, commitment, and compassion she has shared with generations of patrons.

Please join us in celebrating Holly Brown and her incredible legacy at the Gilman Library.

Big news for our readers! Our Large Print collection has moved to a new, more spacious location—giving it plenty of room to grow and making it easier to browse. We’ve also added a rotating Large Print collection from the state library, refreshed every three months, so there’s always something new to discover. To expand your options even further, check out our flyer on the Talking Books program and explore the Libby app for flexible, on-the-go reading. However you like to read, we’ve got you covered.
