We’re hoping that individuals that love history, research, genealogy, design and display, grant writing and technology will join us! If you’re interested our next meeting will be Monday, April 13 at 6:30 pm, at the Altona Library. Howard Collinson was mentioned in an earlier post. This is a 4-H project interview by his Great Granddaughter, Jenna Main Tolley dated 2002. Howard was 97 at the time and died 4 years later at the age of 101. The answer to question #7 under Older Adult is humorous! The house he grew up in, is now the home of his grandson Mark and Melissa Hazen of rural Altona.

Anyone around here ever a member of Lake Calhoun?? Here’s a picture of it in 1925. It’s from Margaret Janes Collinson. She grew up outside of LaFayette and then married Howard Collinson of rural Altona. She was Mike Main’s grandmother.

We were contacted by a Jill Holmgren from Fairbanks, Alaska. She ran across this 1903 Commencement program from Altona in a box of free stuff at her community center! She is not related to Lillie Linderholm. Maybe someone out there is! It will be displayed in Library Hall once we’re up and going!

It’s almost here! The set’s been painted, the lines are memorized and the costumes fitted. Now it’s time for you to make plans to share the magic with us October 10th-12th at the Ellisville Opera House !

The kids are so excited to share Disney’s Jungle Book (Jr. Edition) with you! Familiar songs and a delightful story that promises to captivate audiences of all ages. Mark your calendars and make plans to see the Jr. Rascals’ next production!
