Proud to support Brent Davison for sheriff!🇺🇸
Today, I am proud to announce that I am running for Clinton County Sheriff.
Public service has been the calling of my life. I have worn a uniform and served others since I was 17 years old. My service began in the military and continued with more than 30 years in law enforcement — including time with the New York State Department of Corrections and 29 years with the New York State Police, where I retired at the rank of Major.
When your calling is to serve, there really is no retirement. The greatest part of this profession has always been the opportunity to help someone on one of the worst days of their life — bringing calm to chaos, solving problems, and protecting our communities.
Over the past several months, I have spent time in prayer and reflection about where my experience could best continue to serve others. While I had considered seeking the 115th Assembly seat, it became clear to me that my experience and background are best suited to serving our community closer to home, in a role that directly reflects the work I have spent my life doing.
Throughout my career, I worked closely with law enforcement agencies across the North Country, including the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. I have always believed that the strength of any department comes from the character and dedication of the men and women who serve there.
Like many agencies across the country, the Sheriff’s Office has faced challenges in recent years that have raised concerns within the community. I believe those challenges also present an opportunity — an opportunity to strengthen the department, rebuild confidence, and ensure the highest standards of professionalism moving forward.
As Sheriff, my focus will be on building a department where deputies and correction officers feel supported, proud of the uniform they wear, and determined to serve their community with professionalism and integrity.
The people of Clinton County deserve a Sheriff’s Office where families feel safe, where the community has confidence in its leadership, and where those who wear the badge are respected for the difficult work they do every day.
The badge does not belong to the Sheriff — it belongs to the people of Clinton County. And I will never forget who I work for.
With decades of experience in the military, corrections, and law enforcement, I bring the leadership, training, and commitment needed to help move the department forward and continue building a strong, professional Sheriff’s Office that serves this community with pride.
I look forward to earning your support and serving the people of Clinton County.
May God bless you, and may God bless Clinton County.
