Tonight at 6 is book club. We will be picking up our next read of "His & Hers" by Alice Feeney. Next month we will discuss this book and then watch the movie. If you would like to join, just show up. :)

We are hosting an event at the elementary school Tuesday with Arrayscape for 4th and 5th graders. One of the things we will have there is a chompsaw so I am looking for plain cardboard if anyone has any to get rid of. Thank you

The Altoona Library was awarded the round 4 of ALA's LTC grant. The grant was wrote to benefit our students and kids with autism. We will be getting new stuff to make our kids corner autism friendly and equipped with a sensory board. We will also be making backpacks with items they may need to calm them during an episode. So many of them will be available at the library and some will be for use at the elementary school and possibly if needed at the ms/hs. I will be meeting with the teachers on the 21st to discuss items they might find beneficial. Once the community discussion is complete we will start getting supplies to set it all up. So excited to be able to do this for our students and citizens. I love our little library and community.

We had a donation and request for kids books to be bought and displayed in honor of Allen Barnhart. So we purchased the full set of The Little Blue Truck. Which we saw fitting. Thank you for the donation and they are now on display ready for check out.
