Finished a another 4 day week of summer program. The theme for the week was Community Helpers. The students created care packages for the unhoused and donated them to a local organization. They also put together birthday cake pans for the food pantry. The birthday cake pans contained a cake mix, icing, candles, and 1 can of soda. Did you know that you can skip the eggs, water, and oil to make a delicious cake? Adding a can of soda pop activates the mix’s dry leavening elements so that the cake will be tall and delicious. The students also started to create a sleeping mat made out of recycled shopping bags. This proved a little harder than expected and will be finished during the school year and donated.
