In light of the recent effects of this weekend’s snow storm and the anticipated cold temperatures for the remainder of the week, the Altoona Area School District will operate on a modified school schedule for Wednesday (Jan. 28), Thursday (Jan. 29), and Friday (Jan. 30). An email was sent to all AASD families.

Due to the inclement weather and unsafe travel in areas, all AASD schools will be operating on a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

In addition to the Altoona Area School District operating as a Flexible Instruction Day, Administrative Offices, school offices and the AASD Tax Office will be closed to the public.
