Unfortunately, this is part of the reality school staff are dealing with on a daily basis. Bathrooms left in unsanitary condition and school spaces being intentionally damaged create unnecessary challenges for everyone.
We ask that families please have conversations with their students about respect, responsibility, and taking pride in our school.

Our amazing 5th graders and MHS art students have been working incredibly hard creating beautiful ceramic poppies that are now displayed around our big tree on campus. 🌺

These poppies were created in honor of Memorial Day and the brave men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedoms and our country. The students put so much time, creativity, and care into each piece, and we are incredibly proud of both their hard work and the meaningful tribute they created.

Please help us protect their artwork by being respectful and reminding students, and adults not to touch, pull on, or break the ceramic flowers so everyone in our school and community can continue to enjoy them.

Thank you for helping us honor our heroes and celebrate our students’ beautiful work. ❤️

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is a reminder regarding our student dress and appearance policy, which is in place to ensure a safe, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment.

We are specifically asking for your attention to shorts and fitted clothing. Bicycle shorts, spandex shorts, and leggings must be worn with a top that extends no shorter than mid-thigh. Clothing that is excessively tight, too short, or exposes undergarments is not appropriate for school.

Please ensure your child leaves home each day dressed in compliance with the school dress code. Students who are not in compliance will be required to change and a phone call will be made home for a change of clothing.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain consistent expectations for all students.

📣 Alturas Elementary School – Now Enrolling! 🦅📚

We’re excited to announce that Open Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year begins May 1st!

🌟 Kindergarten Enrollment is OPEN!
If your child is ready to start their journey as an AES Eagle, now is the time to register!

📌 California Kindergarten Requirements (Ed Code 48000):
✔️ Children must turn 5 years old on or before September 1 of the school year to enroll in Kindergarten

🎉 Kindergarten Roundup:
Join us on May 13th from 5:00–6:00 PM to meet staff, learn more, and get your questions answered!

📝 Kindergarten packets are available now at local preschools and the AES main office.
⚠️ Please do not turn in packets until they are 100% complete, including all required forms filled out and signed by your child’s doctor and dentist.
