Minimum Qualifications
•High School Diploma/ Equivalent
•Class C License
•Computer knowledge with programs including Excel, Access, Word
•Customer Service, communication skills, and conducting one’s self professionally while dealing with public during a difficult time.
Job duties of Part time extra help
Seasonal part time position/On Call in winter-Starting Salary Minimum wage/DOE
•Responsible for maintaining the lawns and areas around the headstones.
•Mowing and w**d whacking, maintain trees and shrubs.
•Remove dead flowers that were left after a funeral and take away plant containers that held flowers at a grave site that have wilted and died.
•Remove anything that's unsightly in order to give the visitors a feeling of peace.
•Repetitive bending, lifting, digging and walking for long periods of time. Ability to lift heavy objects in a safe manner. Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
•Before Memorial Day two or three weeks start to manicure with both the w**d eater and spade each and every headstone.
•Performs a spring cleanup 2 week after Memorial Day and a fall cleanup in October of the cemetery.
•Attend to broken headstones and deal with any issues of vandalism.
•Performs other special projects at the cemetery that are approved by the board.
•Removes branches that are littered in the cemetery in a timely manner.
•Levels and seeds new graves as needed and old graves that have settled.
•Maintains water lines.
•Maintains both power/hand tools: Wash after use, oil the tool with linseed oil for hand tools. For power tools make sure cords are not exposed. Also, check fluid levels.
•Cleans rest rooms and office and empties trash containers.
•Vehicle maintenance
•General office work.
•Communication skills with families during difficult times.
•Locating lots, opening and closing of interments with use of backhoe.
•Any duties as assigned by supervisor or board members.
