🎉 Dragon Lady Scholarship Announces 2025 - 2026 Recipients 🎉
The Carol J. Christiansen Annual “Dragon Lady” Nursing Scholarship is proud to recognize this year’s recipients:
👏 Kristy Sphar
👏 Jennifer Insley (Valedictorian, Lassen Community College)
👏 Megan Wright
👏 Julianna Minto

Kristy Sphar and Jennifer Insley both graduated in December with associate degrees in nursing and are already serving our region—Kristy at Modoc Medical Center and Jennifer at Mayers Memorial Hospital.
Megan Wright and Julianna Minto continue their nursing education, each pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Megan has completed her third year at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and anticipates graduating in May 2027, while Julianna has completed her first year at Azusa Pacific University.
This scholarship, led by Dr. Joe Catania and the Christiansen family in partnership with Alturas Sunrise Rotary Club and Modoc Medical Center, continues to invest in the future of health care in our community 💙

🐏🐎🐂A huge thank you to the Modoc Junior Livestock Show board leadership for being our program this week! Join them and the rest of our youth at the Junior Livestock Show June 15-19. The community BBQ will be June 19th at 5pm, auction at 6:30pm.
