Knowing who to call helps everyone.

If someone is in immediate danger, there's a fire, a medical emergency, or a crime is happening right now, call 911.

For non-emergency police matters, contact the Altus Police Department at (580) 482-4121.

Reporting power outages online also helps keep phone lines clear so 911 operators can focus on emergencies. You can submit a power outage report or other City service requests anytime at altusok.gov/report.

Using the right resource helps emergency responders get where they're needed faster and keeps City services running smoothly.

A small leak can waste a lot more water than most people realize.

A dripping faucet, running toilet, irrigation leak, or broken sprinkler can add up fast and may increase your water bill.

Take a few minutes to check around your home, including faucets, toilets, hoses, and irrigation systems. Fixing leaks early can help save water, save money, and prevent damage around your home.

Every drop counts, Altus.

💧 A Reminder: Water Conservation Is Always in Effect in Altus

With the extreme heat we’ve experienced this summer, water use across Altus has increased significantly—particularly during the early morning hours.

We want to remind everyone that Altus operates under a year-round water conservation program. Even when we are not under elevated restrictions, outdoor watering follows an odd/even schedule:

🏠 Odd-numbered addresses: Water on odd-numbered calendar days
🏠 Even-numbered addresses: Water on even-numbered calendar days

These everyday conservation measures help spread demand across the system and give our water infrastructure time to recover between periods of heavy use.

With continued triple-digit temperatures in the forecast, we are asking everyone to take the year-round watering schedule seriously and avoid unnecessary water use. Small changes across thousands of homes and businesses can make a substantial difference.

Please help us keep our water system reliable for everyone:

💧 Follow the odd/even watering schedule
💧 Avoid watering during the hottest part of the day
💧 Check sprinklers so they water landscaping—not streets and sidewalks
💧 Repair leaks and running irrigation systems promptly
💧 Avoid unnecessary outdoor water use

Altus has a water conservation program for a reason—and conservation starts before there is an emergency.

Thank you for helping us use our community’s water responsibly.
