As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank every member of the Alva EMS family.
The late nights. The long transfers. The difficult calls. The missed holidays, family gatherings, and special moments. The lack of sleep. The emotional and mental toll that comes with answering the call day after day. These sacrifices often go unseen, but they matter, and so do each of you.
Rural EMS is not easy. Our crews face long transport times, challenging weather conditions, limited resources, and critical decisions that must be made in seconds. Through it all, you continue to show up with professionalism, compassion, and dedication to the people of Woods County.
What makes this team even more remarkable is the commitment to continued education and professional growth. Many of you spend your time off attending classes, completing continuing education, studying for advanced certifications, and sharpening your skills, not because you have to, but because you want to provide the highest level of care possible to our patients. The time and effort you invest in becoming better providers directly benefits every person who calls 911 and every patient entrusted to our care.
We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside some of the very best providers around:
Heather Boeckman, Paramedic
Ethan Flynt, Paramedic
Olivia Decker, Paramedic
Katey Bullock, Advanced EMT
Tabitha Robinson, Advanced EMT
Susy Altamirano, Advanced EMT
Rebecca Davidson, Advanced EMT
Brooke Meyer, Advanced EMT
Ronald Vasquez II, EMT
Nathaniel Atienza, EMT
Katie Church, EMT
Britni Beck, EMT
Brandon Keplinger, EMT
Brendan Lohrding, EMR
Austin Durkee, EMR
Thank you for your commitment to this service, to one another, and to the citizens we serve. Thank you for the compassion you show patients on their worst days, for the teamwork you demonstrate during difficult situations, and for the countless hours you dedicate to keeping this community safe.
Your impact reaches far beyond the back of an ambulance. You are a source of comfort during emergencies, a reassuring presence during uncertainty, and a lifeline for our community when help is needed most.
You are appreciated more than words can express, and we are proud to serve alongside each and every one of you.
Happy EMS Week from all of us at Alva EMS. đâ¤ď¸
