About noon today we were dispatched to a grass fire in our area on the Stateline. We want to thank Capron Volunteer Fire Department Alva Fire Department and units from Elwood Fire in Hardtner Kansas for the help today. All units have now cleared this scene and are back at the station.

Also this evening our Command 17 and Brush 14 along with a task force from Woods County, were dispatched to Beaver County to assist them. Units have now been diverted from there to near Meade, Kansas to assist those departments.

Please say a little prayer for all area firefighters as we navigate these dry conditions!

Approximately two years ago, Brush Rig 14 was involved in an accident and subsequently declared a total loss. We are pleased to announce that its replacement was officially placed into service today. Given the current dry conditions and significant fuel loads, the return of this asset restores our station to full operational capacity with a complete fleet in working condition!
