Chief May was officially sworn in last night at the city council meeting. We are glad to have him aboard and look forward to working with him!
Congrats Chief May!
Chief May will be at the Alvarado Senior citizens center today from 10am-12pm for a meet and greet. If you have a moment please swing by and say hello.
We're thrilled to announce the lone finalist for Alvarado Police Chief, Teddy May. Teddy was the near unanimous pick of our interview panel of 14 people, made of members of the APD, City leaders, Councilmembers, and technical experts/Police Chiefs from the surrounding cities; his reputation in our extensive background checks revealed a Chief committed to excellence, positive growth, and consistently going beyond what was required to do the job. His record shows a continuous drumbeat of high-level accomplishments, across a wide breadth of experience.
He is also extremely personable and a family man of good humor. We think his presence will be a welcome relief for not only the Police Department, but the whole city, which has waited for several months waiting on this hire. His leadership will bring stability, new ideas and a clear direction. Most importantly, though, he understands the challenges and opportunties Alvarado will face in the coming years, and is excited to get started.
Chief May will be sworn in this Monday evening at 6:30pm at Alvarado City Hall, please come and see this historic pinning of the new Chief!
He will begin by meeting every member of the Police Department, and then members of the community at large.
Please join us for a reception to welcome him on Tuesday, March 8th, from 10am-12pm at the Alvarado Senior Center located at 201 E. College on the Square. Please attend if you can and meet the new guy. His bio is included below.
