It’s a boy!!!! Gracie had her baby ❤️

Gracie’s story is one of resilience, love, and an unexpected bond with people.

Six years ago, Gracie was abandoned by her mother. The zoo crew immediately stepped in, caring for her and becoming her surrogate family. As she grew older, we attempted to introduce her to the other barasingha deer, hoping she would join the herd. Gracie, however, had other plans.

From the beginning, she formed a special connection with the people who raised her. Rather than spending her days with the other deer, Gracie chose to stay close to her human caregivers. She quickly earned a reputation as a true “people deer.”

Today, Gracie is one of the friendliest and most beloved residents of the zoo. She loves greeting school field trips and welcoming guests who visit the Big Red Barn. Her curious personality and gentle nature make her a favorite among visitors of all ages.

What began as a difficult start in life has become a heartwarming story of trust, companionship, and the unique relationships that can develop between animals and the people who care for them.

We are pleased to announce that, effective August 1, we have adjusted our pricing to make it easier to understand and, we hope, more affordable for our guests.

New Admission Pricing:

Admission for all guests 32 inches and taller: $20 per person
Children under 32 inches are considered lap babies and are admitted free of charge
