More than 70 PTO and Booster Club Parent Leaders from across Alvin ISD campuses joined us this morning for the 2026 Alvin ISD PTO Expo—and what a tremendous success it was!

We were honored to have Alvin ISD Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Mason - Alvin ISD Superintendent welcome our PTO and Booster Club leaders and express Alvin ISD’s gratitude for the incredible work they do to support our schools, students and families.

The Expo also brought together more than 30 community partners who were there to connect with our PTO and Booster Club leaders and explore opportunities to collaborate in support of our schools and the future of our students.

The morning provided valuable financial guidance, meaningful networking opportunities, and a chance for PTO and Booster Club leaders to connect, collaborate, and share ideas.

To every PTO and Booster Club leader who gives your time, energy, and heart to our schools: THANK YOU! Your work matters, and we are grateful for the difference you make for our students and families.

And to our 30+ community partners, district staff, presenters, and everyone who attended today—thank you for helping make the 2026 Alvin ISD PTO Expo such a success!

We SEE YOU! We appreciate you. We value you. And we are grateful for all you do for Alvin ISD!

💙🧡 Our YET Mentors Are Back!

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming more than 35 returning YET Mentors for our first Refresher Training of the year—and they are ready and excited to reconnect with their mentees!

More returning mentors will join us for additional refresher sessions as we prepare for another year of empowering, encouraging, and inspiring Alvin ISD students.

What makes YET so special? Relationships that last. Some of our mentors have been matched with the same student for as many as NINE YEARS! Year after year, they continue to show up, building trust, celebrating milestones, and helping make their mentees' futures brighter and stronger.

And we're not done growing! New mentors will attend YET New Mentor Orientation over the next few weeks before being matched with newly nominated students.

Would you like to become a YET Mentor?
Would you like to nominate your child for the program?

Duke's Legacy Takes Flight 🐾🚁

Representatives from the Memorial Hermann Health System visited Dr. James "Red" Duke Elementary today to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Life Flight, the groundbreaking emergency medical service pioneered by Dr. Duke right here in the Houston area.

Duke, an army veteran and surgeon who spent decades giving health reports on national television, was instrumental in creating Life Flight at Memorial Hermann Hospital in 1976. It was the second air medical program in the United States.

After a presentation from a flight nurse, students got a closer look at some of the team members who support Life Flight during emergencies thanks to ESD 3, which brought a fire truck and ambulance for students to explore.

But the extra-special guest? The Life Flight helicopter!

Students had the incredible opportunity to climb aboard the aircraft and meet the crew who help bring lifesaving care to those who need it most.

It was a special way to teach students more about the man their school is named after and the lasting impact of his work right here in our community.

Remember, if you look up and see a red helicopter in the sky, that's a Memorial Hermann Life Flight helicopter! So give a wave and think of Dr. Duke! 🐾
