What could be better than celebrating a cow's birthday, reading books, and learning from REAL farmers?

Join us tomorrow at Froberg Fruit and Vegetable Farm, Alvin, Texas, for a special edition of our Alvin ISD Book Bus Summer Reading Road Trip! Families will enjoy story time, free books for children, and the opportunity to experience farm life up close at one of Alvin's favorite local destinations. Froberg's Farm has been serving our community for generations and is a wonderful place to connect literacy with agriculture and local traditions.

A Very Special Book Bus Guest Reader Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, as we continue celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Alvin ISD Book Bus, we are especially proud to welcome one of our very own Alvin ISD students as a guest reader!

Meet AaRon Brooks, a 9-year-old student from Red Duke Elementary and a best-selling author whose passion is helping children understand and manage their emotions.

AaRon will be sharing his inspiring book, Turbo’s Big Red Switch, with children and families visiting the Book Bus. Through his story, young readers learn valuable emotional regulation skills in a fun, engaging, and relatable way.

There is something truly special about seeing a young author inspire other children to read, dream, create, and believe in themselves. We hope you'll join us in celebrating AaRon's incredible accomplishment and supporting one of Alvin ISD's brightest young leaders!

Tuesday, June 2
Pomona Recreational Center | 10:30–11:30 AM
H-E-B Pearland- Shadow Creek | 11:45 AM–12:45 PM

Come meet AaRon, hear his story, check out books, and help us celebrate 10 years of bringing literacy to our community!

Dr. Mason joined the Pearland Chamber of Commerce Newly Elected Officials Meet and Greet, where she addressed community leaders and shared remarks focused on collaboration and continued partnership across the region.

As she continues getting to know the district and its many community partners, opportunities like this provide valuable time to connect, listen, and engage with those helping shape the future of the area.

The final stops on Dr. Mason’s week of campus visits brought her to Hasse Elementary, Alvin Elementary, and Walt Disney Elementary, where she got a glimpse into the joyful, fast-paced excitement that comes with the final days of the school year.

Whether joining students for hands-on learning activities or seeing campuses in action during end-of-year award ceremonies, Dr. Mason had the chance to experience the heart of these schools firsthand.

A big thank you to the students and staff members who helped showcase the care, celebration, and connection that make Alvin ISD such a special place to learn and grow!

As Dr. Mason continued her visits across the district last week, she spent time at Iowa Colony High School and Manvel High School meeting students, staff, and campus leaders.

From classroom conversations to campus tours, each stop gave her the opportunity to experience the pride, connection, and culture that make each campus unique.

Whether it's saying Jacket Pride Never Dies, Hoka Hey, Fins Up, or Blaze the Trail, Dr. Mason is ready to cheer on her new home teams!

Thank you to the students and staff members who gave incoming Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Mason a warm welcome last week as she toured the district to meet administrators and visit campuses ahead of her official start date and the summer break.

To kick off the week, Dr. Mason stopped by Alvin High School, where she caught a glimpse of the senior check-out excitement, and later visited Shadow Creek High School just in time for lunch.

We’ll be sharing more from Dr. Mason’s visits throughout the week, but in the meantime, feel free to help us welcome her in the comments!
