The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a high rip current risk along Brazoria County beaches through Friday (June 19) evening.

If you are headed to the beach, use caution when in the water!

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈRip currents can pull even the strongest swimmer out to sea.

πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ Swimwear color can make a difference.

Bright colors like neon yellow, green, orange, and pink are often much easier to see in the water, while darker colors and shades of blue can quickly blend into pool or open-water environments.

The image below shows how different swimsuit colors appear beneath the surface in both a pool and the ocean.

While no swimsuit replaces active supervision, choosing highly visible colors can add an extra layer of safety when every second counts.

Stay alert, designate a water watcher, and help keep your family safe around the water this summer.
