🐾💛 Protecting Our Bulldogs — Every Day 💛🐾

One of the greatest benefits of having our own ISD Police Department is having officers who are dedicated specifically to the safety and security of our students, staff, and schools.

Our officers are part of the Alvord Nation family. We know our campuses, we know our students, and we work closely with our educators and administrators every day. That presence allows us to build relationships, identify concerns early, respond quickly when needed, and—most importantly—help provide a safe environment where our students can simply focus on being kids and learning.

Whether we’re visible in the hallways, checking our campuses, monitoring school zones, attending events, or working quietly behind the scenes, we are always watching over our little Bulldogs. 🙌

🚌 DID YOU KNOW? 🚨

Today the Alvord ISD Police Department was out enforcing traffic laws along our school bus routes to help keep our students safe.

Under Texas Transportation Code § 545.066, drivers approaching a stopped school bus with flashing red lights or an extended stop sign must STOP from either direction. Drivers must remain stopped until the bus moves, the driver signals you to proceed, or the visual signals are turned off.

Exception: Traffic on the opposite side of a physically divided roadway is not required to stop.

We know getting behind a school bus may add a few minutes to your morning—but we promise, the coffee will still be there. ☕😄

Our goal isn’t to write tickets; it’s to make sure our students get to school and home safely. Please slow down, stay alert, and help us protect our kids.

Thank you!
