TDCJ Ecomm Outage

The ecomm system is having technical issues and is currently offline. The agency is aware and working on a resolution. There is no hard ETA but the goal is to be up and running by tomorrow.

TIMSA will forever be connected to all the things I do. It has become the lifeline to so many great things.

We are excited to share our next adventure! Lone Star Love.

Marcos and I have been doing weddings for a while now. We support those with incarcerated loved ones and those looking to sneak off to the canyon and elope!

I’ll be sharing the website and other great things in the days to come.

For TDCJ weddings, our prices are at the industry standard and start at $200 based on the unit and location. All proceeds from any wedding we conduct is donated to the Hope Welcome Center and go towards things such as our family meal, necessities for families in need, clothing for children in need and so on.

We are not doing weddings as a source of income. We do them from our heart and repurpose any profits to continue serving this wonderful community that we call home.

We have had many reach out regarding wedding services. We are excited to announce that we are now able to offer payment plans through Klarna. Meaning if they approve you they will give you a scheduled payment plan. This is available to anyone getting married !

Our friends at the Hope Welcome Center could use a few donations of sheets! The price is unbelievable!

PREDATORY PRACTICES - CB CODE & FB EXTORTION

I want to be CLEAR this DID NOT happen in a TIMSA related GROUP!

In groups where Admins did not vet or verify members, new profiles have started preying on families who have an incarcerated loved one that recently got a CB Code.

A CB Code is a contraband code and they lose access to most friend by visitation and phone and no tablet access. This hinders the ability to pay for contraband or drugs of choice.

Those who feel they are owed the money are making new FB profiles and shaking down families for money. That is extortion. If you are contacted by someone attempting to do this, DO NOT FALL FOR IT.

You can do a wellness check on your loved one to verify they are okay.

You can always report this to local law enforcement.

DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS BEHAVIOR.

TIMSA works VERY HARD to ensure all of our members have a LOVED ONE at a TDCJ Facility. These profiles have not made their way into our groups because of this.

Please do not ask me who it was. The profiles were disable by FB and the local Police have started the legal process. I will not jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.

PASSING MESSAGES - 3WAY CALLS

Please be careful if you are asked to pass messages for others.

I just spoke to a woman that is completely traumatized. Her abuser and the man who tormented her for years has received a variety of texts from a prison wife. These appear to be innocent messages such as "Happy Birthday Sweetheart" and "I miss you". It is not her birthday. It is the anniversary of a very brutal assault.

If ANYONE asks you to send messages or make 3-way calls, understand that you could be complicit in on going abuse or violating a protective order. This could also negatively impact you and your loved one. If a person is unable to contact another person, there likely is a reason for that.

This young woman is now seeking to press charges against all parties involved.

If you were not there to witness a connection between the two people do no get involved. This applies to all things in life.

Visitation, Correspondence and Telephones… the WHY…

People often ask me why I fight so hard for phone calls, visitation and correspondence. I thought after the rough day I’ve had that I will share that with each of you, because it ties into it.

Just for a normal status quo visit, no additional issues, a person experiences anxiety, excitement, frustration, guilt, grief and helplessness. Many do not know how to explain what they feel after a visit because all of this at once and in a short period is confusing and overwhelming. This is why I recommend for everyone to decompress after visit. It is how I’ve navigated this my whole life and it’s effective.

When you have all of those feelings and emotions bottled up inside and something goes wrong, it’s easy to explode. It’s a recipe for disaster.

In one of my visits, I was told that my service dog needed to be put in the xray machine and the body scanner. They said this to an ass. The officer began yelling at me at the top of her lungs. Had I not been prepared this could have resulted in a catastrophic incident.

As families we don’t want nor need the drama at a visit. But there are some officers who will do their due diligence to trigger a response. They do this because of you react the wrong way you can lose your visits and they enjoy having that power over you.

I do what I do so each of you reading this know you have support and so you know that you have the power of support and sense of community, which is always a step above someone using their position in a negative manner.

Many have expressed issues with the “mobile teams” at the various units. I have also experienced these issues. I have escalated these concerns. I have asked for training and compassion for families. I normally would not post this information until I had a response. However, there has been an overwhelming amount of issues this weekend alone and I want you all to know 1. I understand 2. I hear and see you and 3. I’m working on it. Please allow me grace to navigate this magnitude of change as it is a systemic issue and it will like pulling teeth from a hungry tiger.

No one should have added stress for no reason. Communication can prevent things from escalating and training would reduce the amount of issues we are seeing.

This does not mean go to the unit and act a fool. It means have patience, be kind and know that as long as you are doing all things with kindness and following policies, I will have your back and will stand up and fight this battle.

If you’re disabled and use a service dog( not an emotional support dog/animal) please know that I am also working on this. If requested to place your service animal in the x-ray machine or body scanner, respectfully ask for a duty warden. Those machines were not intended for use with animals. A service animal is a medical device and an investment in your longevity.
