The organization originally started as the Potter Randall Democratic Women’s Club, f

ounded in 1971 by a group of determined Democratic women who sought to strengthen civic engagement and support Democratic candidates across the Panhandle. Inspired by their commitment to fair representation and community action, they began as a small phone banking committee of about 40 people. From those early calls, the club quickly grew into an organized force for grassroots political involvement. Over time, the name changed to Potter Randall Democrats and was later modified to Panhandle Democrats to better represent the entire region. Over the decades, the club has hosted distinguished speakers, including state and national leaders, as well as memorable community events. The organization has evolved to welcome all individuals committed to advancing Democratic values, while maintaining its roots in fellowship, service, and civic participation. Today, we continue that legacy by offering monthly programs featuring guest speakers and discussions on political and civic issues. Meetings are held January through November on the fourth Monday of each month. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. We also host an annual banquet along with other events throughout the year. We invite you to join us, connect with fellow Democrats, and help shape the future of our community.

Today, we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is a time for remembrance, gratitude, and reflection.

We carry forward their sacrifice by protecting the freedoms, communities, and country they served.

May we never forget those who gave everything.

Water is not an abstract issue in the Texas Panhandle. It is our future.

The Ogallala Aquifer helped make the High Plains one of the most productive agricultural regions in the country, but it is not an unlimited resource. The Texas Water Development Board identifies the Ogallala as a major aquifer underlying much of the High Plains, and water researchers have warned that the Panhandle depends heavily on it for water supply.

For too long, decisions about water have been treated like someone else’s problem. But every election matters when the people we choose are making decisions about conservation, development, agriculture, infrastructure, and who gets protected when resources become scarce.

We need leaders who understand that water rights, rural communities, family farms, and future generations must come before short term corporate profit.

Watch this video, then remember: protecting the Panhandle means voting for people who are serious about protecting our water.

Our future depends on it.
