Sweet caramel Beaver Nuggets and fresh-carved brisket sandwiches beware! The Williams Cottage girls traveled far and wide this summer! They went on all kinds of adventures but visiting Buc-ee's with HPCH caseworker, Mikayla Paschel was definitely a highlight! "He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. "That's one small step for a houseparent, one giant leap for HPCH". Pretty sure that's what Neil Armstrong said...or maybe that was Christy Cottage house dad, Joseph Ricenbaw!? We're so thankful for every single one of our houseparents at HPCH. There's a lot of things happening during the summer months when our kids are out of school. Appointments, meal prep, sporting events, camps, vacations...if you can name it, they've probably done it! Our HPCH houseparents do so much for our children every day, and we are so grateful for their selfless love and care! 👨‍🚀 🇺🇸 🌕 ✨ ❤️

Many of our children will be returning from Camp Blue Haven today, which means the start of the new school year is just around the corner...only a week and a half away! I "mustache" you a question...have you ever visited Russell's Travel Center in Glenrio, New Mexico!? The Williams Cottage girls did this summer, and they had a blast! They got to explore the state-of-the-art facility which includes a complete grocery store, an authentic Route 66 diner, a classic car and memorabilia museum, and even a chapel! 〰️ 🏪 🚙 🚗 ⛽ 🍨 🥸 💜

Are you brave enough to touch a jellyfish!? Our Christy Cottage girls welcomed the opportunity during a recent trip to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, Oklahoma! Moon Jellyfish have no brain, heart, or blood and are made up of 95% seawater! Our girls were able to safely touch the top (the bell) of these jellyfish, and they learned what makes these mesmerizing creatures the world's most efficient swimmers! 🪼 🪼 🪼 🪼 🪼 🪼 🪼 🪼 🥰

Happy Monday! We hope you had a fantastic weekend! Many of our children will be camping at Camp Blue Haven for one more week. We can't wait to have them back on the HPCH campus so that we can learn and talk about all the fun things they did! It's always so great to hear their favorite camp memories! Bye-bye July and hello August! It's hard to believe it's already the last day of the month, which means you should probably treat yourself to a red, white and blue ice pop! It's official! Rene has obtained his driver's permit! He has been working really hard over the past several months and has spent quite a bit of time behind the wheel. When he first began driving with an instructor, he was a little nervous about parallel parking but after a lot of practice and persistence, he mastered the skill! It's such a blessing to see our children achieve their goals! 🚗 🚦 ⛽️ 🪪 🥰
