Do more of THEM appear to be losing it? It appears that facts, science and social norms don't matter to them. It is a shame they demand rights and freedoms but are unwilling to do the same for those that are doing their best to protect that working class they claim to be so concerned about. Our future success will depend on a balancing act that name calling and threats will not resolve.

The Republicans made significant gains in South Texas.

Understanding the difference will be key to Democrats moving past their faltering, one-size-fits-all approach to Hispanics.

Love and tacos in the time of covid..... Mr. Medina seems like a great guy. If you make it up to his part of the world stop in and see him.

A Mexican restaurant in a small town in Iowa has wrapped itself in the middle of political discourse after some customers of the popular eatery took offense to a yard sign the owner placed outside.

It's a shame that 40% of Latinos don't have access to the internet in California. I do love the resilience of these two young ladies and I appreciate the kindness of these employees reaching out to them. This my friends and neighbors is the best of us..... meeting challenges head on, keeping up with your work so you can get ahead and people caring and giving to make a families life better. Our realities are all different.... some of us don't have the luxury of the internet, some don't have computers, some have to share with siblings and parents. Many fall behind, not for lack of desire or try but because lack of technology is their reality. It is noble that the owner of this restaurant is looking for ways to "support these students and the broader community". This owner is not the only one doing this... businesses have done this in Amarillo and around the nation. The reality of this generation is much different from ours, we must do all we can to make them successful. If we do this, if we each do our part to help these young people, I am confident they will work tirelessly to make this world a better, smarter, more inclusive place.

A now-viral photo of two young students using the free WiFi in a Taco Bell parking lot for online learning highlights unequal access to internet.

"There's so much work out there." ....Dolores Huerta

We have to find a way to speak with one voice. The struggle we have faced and continue to face does not come and go, it is constant. Our challenges, at times, seem lessened or even vanquished but in truth they are always there, hiding, waiting to be stoked by racism, greed and hate. Our vigilance and our righteous battle must be constant.

Labor leader who co-founded the United Farm Workers union is still fighting for equality. "There's so much work out there," she says.

We must be our better selves, look for solutions and inclusion both for ourselves and for others. There is no doubt that hate, racism and white supremacy are a real and constant threat, but we cannot live in fear. I refuse to cower and crawl through this life and I would expect you to do the same. MLK many years ago stated that he chose love, that hate was too great a burden to bear. I agree with part of that statement, hate is too great a burden to bear but MLK is a great man.... I cannot always love that which chooses to oppress me, to instill fear in me, to violently oppose my existence. There is however dialogue, a chance to build respect, a path to that ever elusive love that we so desperately need in these times.

A year after an alleged racist attack that killed 23 at an El Paso Walmart, survivors and others reflect on the hate that inspired the deadly mass shooting.
