Really cool day at the University of Oklahoma visiting with a group of business college students.

We had a great conversation about public education in Oklahoma; teacher pay, literacy, school funding, and supporting students with disabilities. But what stood out most wasn’t just the topics… it was the questions.

Thoughtful. Prepared. Engaged. Honestly, some of the best I’ve received in any student setting.

Grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the next generation of leaders. The future is bright.

Had the opportunity to visit Oklahoma City Public Schools, including a stop at Coolidge Elementary.

Spending time with teachers and students is always a powerful reminder of why this work matters. The energy in the building, the commitment of the staff, and the joy of the students, it’s what public education is all about.

There are great things happening in classrooms across Oklahoma every single day.

Proud to be part of this work.

Had the opportunity to speak at the Oklahoma City Rotary, and it ended up being one of my favorite events.

The entire program was student-led, including a moderated conversation where I had the chance to be interviewed by one of Oklahoma’s own.

The students were outstanding. Thoughtful questions, confident delivery, and real presence.

The room was filled with leaders from across Oklahoma City, and the discussion was spirited, engaging, and forward-looking.

But what stood out most was this:
Our students are ready.

When given the opportunity, they step up. They lead. They challenge ideas, and they do it with confidence and respect.

Grateful to be part of it and encouraged by what’s ahead.

The future is bright.

I had the opportunity to visit Junior Achievement’s BizTown while students were in session, and it was really cool.

Students were running businesses, making decisions, and working together in real time. They were incredible.

Experiences like this help connect the classroom to the real world and build skills that will serve students well beyond school.

There’s something powerful about watching students step into responsibility, solve problems, and support one another. That’s where confidence is built. That’s where leadership starts.

Proud of these students. Grateful for their teachers. And thankful for programs like Junior Achievement that bring learning to life.

The future is bright for Oklahoma.

An educator’s worst nightmare.

This week, we were reminded of both the fragility of life… and the strength of those who serve our students every day.

In Paul’s Valley, a principal saw danger, stepped in, and acted without hesitation.

He was shot.

And because of his courage, lives were saved.

I’m grateful for the leadership on the ground, from school leaders to first responders who stepped in quickly and selflessly.

That’s what educators do.

They show up.
They protect.
They lead.
They put others before themselves.

We often talk about education in terms of policy, funding, and outcomes.

But moments like this remind us:

Being an educator is one of the most noble callings there is.

Our schools are filled with people who would do anything for the students in their care.

Let’s never lose sight of that.

Hug your children.
Say thank you to an educator.

And keep Principal Moore and the entire Pauls Valley community in your prayers.

Six months ago, I was given the opportunity to serve as Oklahoma’s State Superintendent.

Today is the final day to file to run for this office.

As I shared when I was appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt in October, I committed to serve for 15 months, and that remains my focus.

Over the next nine months, my priority is simple: build a strong, stable foundation for the next State Superintendent.

Whoever that leader is, I will work alongside them to ensure their success, because this work is bigger than any one person.

This journey has been significant.

I feel like I’ve gotten my footing again, and I’m grateful.

Grateful to the Governor.
Grateful for our turnaround team.
Grateful to the Legislature.
Grateful for the team at the State Department of Education.
Grateful for educators, parents, and students across Oklahoma.

Your support has meant more than I can put into words.

And most of all, I’m grateful for Leigh Ann and Eva. Your support, patience, and belief in me make this work possible.

We’ve made real progress.

And the future of education in Oklahoma is bright.

The work matters.
The mission is clear.
And we’re just getting started.

Grateful for the opportunity to deliver a keynote today to 200 educators who are doing the real work.

We talked about this idea:
Vision is the spark. Culture is the flame.

And how it comes to life through the work that matters most:
Communication. Relationships. Alignment. Ex*****on. Capacity.

Had the chance to spend a few minutes with this group from Metro Tech leaders who are modeling this work every day.

Proud to be in this work with you.

It’s been a productive few days in Washington, D.C.

I’ve spent time with chief school officers from across the country, leaders working through many of the same challenges we see in Oklahoma, but also thinking ahead about what’s next.

It was a good reminder for me.

We can’t spend all our time reacting.
We have to make space to be strategic.

I also appreciated the opportunity to sit down with Senator Lankford to talk about how we can better support Oklahoma schools through strong state and federal alignment.

Proud to represent Oklahoma in these conversations.

Steady progress may not always make headlines, but it’s what moves us forward.

The damage from last week’s tornado is still visible at Beggs Public Schools.

Secretary Dan Hamlin and I visited the campus to see the progress being made. We also discussed how the Oklahoma State Department of Education can help the district through this challenge.

We had a candid and productive conversation focused on what will best serve their students.

I’m proud of the staff and community. They are doing what Oklahoma schools always do. They’re showing up for kids and helping one another.

There is still work ahead, but Beggs will come back strong.

That’s the Oklahoma way.
