SAY IT AIN'T SNOW! Wait... what?

I know the "weather police" will come after me for making this post, but when I was looking at model guidance for next week, this caught my eye! The GFS (American) model shows a strong cold front moving through next Saturday, cold enough that it simulates lake-effect snow showers and flurries!

➡️ Will this happen? I doubt it, but there is other model agreement for a stronger push of colder air next week. If it is somehow cold enough to see snow, it would only be flurries and light snow showers. We still have some time to go to see snowfall accumulations, but I thought this would be a fun little post to make.

Stay tuned for updates! Are YOU ready for snow? It won’t be much longer! ❄️🙂

UPDATED RAIN FORECAST... TRENDING WETTER.

The wetter/western trend has continued overnight, so it is time to increase the totals across much of eastern Pennsylvania. It is possible I may have to nudge these a bit higher and even further west, and will continue to do so as confidence increases. Flooding will not be a huge concern as these will be spread out over 48 hours, but watch for any prone and low-lying spots to build some water.

⌚ TIMING: Rain arrives in eastern Pennsylvania (east of I-81) between 7 - 10 AM on Saturday. Periods of rain increase into the afternoon and evening hours. Rain will begin to slowly spread west of I-81 into the evening hours after 8 PM. There may be a brief lull in action Saturday night (11 PM - 2 AM) before a second push of rain is expected as the low-pressure system tracks near the New Jersey shore. Showers push west of State College by 8 AM Sunday, with more numerous periods of rain for eastern PA. Rain and showers continue through much of the day on Sunday, especially the farther east you are located. Showers begin to taper late Sunday evening and into the overnight, a few lingering sprinkles or a shower east of I-81 into early Monday morning.

Stay tuned for updates!

I would love the opportunity to speak with you and learn more about your organization. Even a brief 5-minute conversation can help determine whether our services would be a good fit.

MONDAY'S STORM THREAT
The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area in a slight risk for severe weather. The area of yellow means that there could be scattered severe thunderstorms. As is the case with scattered storms, not everyone will see them. But, a few storms could be strong. Outside of a few showers in the morning the main activity gets going during the afternoon and evening. Along with the threat for severe storms, we could have some issues with downpours that lead to instances of localized flooding. With the ground being dry there could be runoff with any intense rainfall rates and that could lead to flash flooding. Stay weather aware throughout the day, especially if you're attending any World Cup festivities outside.
