Last night the Ambridge Fire Department (A shift) was dispatched to 400 Duss Ave., along with our first alarm assignment, for a commercial structure fire. Engine 71 arrived within 4 minutes of dispatch and found a working fire on division 2 of a large 3 story structure. Forced entry was made and an attack line was stretched.
Engine 71 crew led by Justin Miller had a quick knock on the fire that limited the damage to the structure. There is still significant smoke and water damage throughout. There were no reported injuries and the fire was under control within 20 minutes. Extensive overhaul was conducted to ensure there was not any hidden fire.
The fire is currently under investigation.
Thank you to our mutual aid companies Aliquippa Firefighters, Cochran Hose Company - Sewickley Fire Department, Crescent Township Volunteer Fire Department, Harmony Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., Baden Volunteer Fire Department - Station 47 for the assistance, Ambridge PD, and Medic Rescue for the ems standby.
