Three more mussel fouled boats were intercepted this week thanks to our inspectors at Highway 93, Malad and Highway 20 inspection stations!
These vessels were coming from Lake Mead, Lake Havasu and Lake Michigan. All mussels were determined to be dead, boats were hotwashed and released.
As the boating season picks up, remember to always #CleanDrainDry your watercraft to #StopInvasiveSpecies!

This weekend the Malad watercraft inspection station intercepted this vessel on its way to Montana after spending 3 months in the Colorado River. Inspectors found dead Asian Clams and Quagga mussels on the anchor. The boat and anchor were hot-washed and the vessel was released to its destination.
Remember to always Clean, Drain and Dry your watercraft and your anchor after use!

Update on winterizing Massacre Rocks State Park. The water to the Upper Loop campground individual campsites has now been shut off for the winter. The Upper Loop campground restroom / shower building is still open until the winter temperatures drop even lower. Water is still available at the frost free hydrant at the entrance to the campground.

As colder temperatures arrive we are winterizing areas of the park. The lower loop campground is closed until spring, the water is shut off to the lower loop campsites Register Rock, our dump station and the fishing access. The upper loop campsites remain open (they are open year round) and water to the upper campsites is still on. The upper loop campground restroom / shower building is also still open. We will shut off the campsite water and close the upper loop campground restroom / shower building when temperatures get colder.
