National Police Week began yesterday and ends on Saturday, May 16th. As with National Telecommunications Week, National Police Week honors the hard work and sacrifices of our law enforcement officers.

This week also honors those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. We extend our deepest gratitude to those gone but never forgotten.

The Power County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance. A PCSO deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop with this motorcyclist for reported traffic violations. When the deputy located the motorcyclist on I-86, a traffic stop was initiated.

The motorcyclist fled, reaching speeds upwards of 140 mph. The deputy was unable to maintain a visual of the motorcycle at those speeds and discontinued for public safety reasons. Information obtained revealed the motorcyclist had fueled up at Maverik prior to the traffic complaint.

If anyone has any information regarding the motorcycle or operator of the motorcycle please contact the sheriff’s office at 208-226-2311 reference case number 26-2P1169. Thank you.
