Sumter County Middle School was recognized at this morning’s Superintendent’s Cabinet Meeting for leading the district in social media posts last week! 🎉👏

We love sharing all the great things happening at SCMS — Where Greatness Happens! 🐾

⚽🔥 In case you didn’t know… soccer and dodgeball are SERIOUS business at an SCMS R.O.A.R. Celebration! 😂🐾

Yesterday, we celebrated our Panthers who earned the August PBIS R.O.A.R. Reward! 🎉 To attend, students had to:

🐾 Have no discipline referrals in Infinite Campus
📚 Be failing no more than one class
✏️ Have no missing assignments
🏫 Miss no more than one day of school from August 3–28

Then it was time for some well-earned FUN! Students could choose from the Karaoke Room, Movie Room, Board Game Room, student dodgeball tournament, or a pickup soccer game. 🎤🎬🎲🏐⚽

👏 Congratulations to all of our Panthers who earned their way into the celebration! R.O.A.R. Celebrations are about recognizing students who are showing up, staying on top of their work, and making positive choices at school.

Now the challenge starts again—who will earn their spot at the NEXT R.O.A.R. Celebration? 👀💙💛🐾

🧠💡 MTSS Meeting of the Minds!

Collaboration was in action at SCMS this week! Our SCS MTSS Team met with members of the SCMS Leadership Team to review our MTSS program, discuss student tier status, and make sure our Panthers are getting the support they need to succeed. 🐾📚

📚🏆 FIRST TO FINISH—AND ALREADY ON CHALLENGE #3!

Congratulations to Joshua Daniel, the first SCMS student to complete the Spin. Read. Win! Challenge! Even better, Joshua has already completed TWO reading challenges before anyone else; Historical Fiction & Equality! 🔥📖

His reading streak earned a special surprise from Mr. Coleman Price, SCS Director of Operations, who rewarded Joshua with $20 for his accomplishment! 💵👏

And yes—there’s a reason you can’t see Joshua’s face in the photo! 😊 Joshua told us he’d rather not have his picture shared on social media, so we found a compromise that still let us celebrate him. At SCMS, we want students to be proud of their accomplishments and comfortable with how they’re recognized. When featuring a student individually, we respect their voice and give them a choice about being photographed and shared.

Joshua chose book + prize, no face—and we think he nailed it! 📚💵😎

He picked up his Match 5 Challenge card this morning and is well on his way to completing that challenge as well! Way to go, Joshua! Who’s going to catch him? 🐾💙💛
