Using actual case materials and interactive discussion, participants will examine what happened, identify missed opportunities, and explore how decisions can shape victim safety, officer safety, offender accountability, and successful prosecution.

We were honored to be apart of this important conversation! Thank you again to Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Liberty House of Albany!

We appreciate Karima Dillard with the Policy Task Force of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violencefor coming to SWGA for conversations about domestic violence in our community.

The conversation brought together domestic violence professionals, judges, and law enforcement for candid and meaningful discussions about the policies that help—and those that can unintentionally create barriers for—survivors seeking safety and justice.

These conversations matter. The goal is to bring the voices and experiences of those working on the front lines of domestic violence directly to legislators during the upcoming legislative session, helping ensure that policy decisions are informed by what survivors and those serving them experience every day.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of these important conversations and to advocate for stronger systems, better policies, and safer futures for survivors across Georgia. 💜

We are incredibly grateful to Congressman Sanford Bishop for securing FY26 Community Project Funding (CDS) for our agency and for his continued support of the important work we do in our communities.

This funding will make a meaningful difference in our ability to serve children and families across Southwest Georgia. We truly appreciate Congressman Bishop’s commitment to our agency and, most importantly, to the children and families we serve.

Please mark your calendars. Two different days and times for the food pantry in August BUT you can only choose one time to visit. We are hoping that our families that do not get off until 5 will have a chance to come “shop” the pantry.
No person is allowed to pick up for anyone else. Sorry if this causes an inconvenience but we have to set rules.

The hottest days of summer are here, bringing changes in routine, more social gatherings, and increased alcohol use that can heighten stress and the risk of violence. However, it's important to note that these factors do not cause abuse. Responsibility always lies with the person who chooses to harm.

As professionals working with survivors, this is a critical time to recognize warning signs, coordinate support and help survivors access safety.
