Opioid Addiction has long been an epidemic plaguing rural communities. We commend Pennsylvania for their initiative on the matter as we look to continue progress in solving this crisis.
Four years ago today, I signed the first opioid disaster declaration in Pennsylvania.
We’ve come a long way since then — reversing overdoses, connecting Pennsylvanians to treatment that works, and getting people on the road to recovery.
This epidemic isn’t over. There’s more work to be done in the legislature, like legalizing safe injection sites and fentanyl test strips.
