Today begins a hot and humid week across the state, and we have a Heat Advisory issued for portions of central and southern Iowa, where heat is expected to be most prolonged throughout the week and persistent through the overnights. Several consecutive days of afternoon highs in the mid 90s are possible, along with heat index values from 100-103 and near-record warm overnight low temperatures in some locations. Plan ahead this week, stay hydrated, and limit strenuous outdoor activity!

Join us Saturday, August 29th to honor International Overdose Awareness Day from 10 AM-12 PM at Bandshell Park in Ames.

By gathering together as a community, this is our opportunity to:
💜Raise awareness about overdose and substance use disorders
💜Provide education about life-saving overdose prevention strategies
💜Create a healing space to honor those who have lost their lives to overdose

We will have speakers and a wide variety of community organizations will be on site to share their resources and information.

Everyone is welcome to attend!
