In 2017 we started with a mission to restore the Amherst WI Opera House to use by local residents as it was intended. It has been a labor of love by a small group of people supported greatly by a much larger group of area residents and benefactors. No small task bringing a 124 year old building back to daily use. Through it all we try to be mindful of the building's past. Here is an image made in 1927 on the stage. The East Amherst Community Club Dramatics Contest for 1927-1928. This performance has been delayed twice, once because of delay in ceiling restoration, and once due to severe ice storm. The restoration project is finished and the ice has melted. Come and experience local Theater Art in our newly updated 124 year old Opera House. The Amherst Opera House was designed and built in 1902 specifically to host local "Entertainments" and performances like this are exactly what the founders of the Amherst Opera House Co. had in mind.

The church group that meets at the Amherst WI Opera House invites everybody to a free smoked rib meal on Sunday, May 3rd. A full FREE smoked rib lunch for all who come! We are celebrating our return to The Opera House after its renovation is complete. Everyone is welcome to join us for worship, a message from God's Word, and a full rib lunch.

There is a lot going on at the Amherst WI Opera House! We are closing in on the completion of a major project. The 2300 square foot ceiling has been repaired, newly skinned surface, and a fresh coat of paint. Now the cleaning is the final task. If the doors are open stop in and take a look.

Memorabilia from the Amherst Community Hall. Are you old enough to remember the Steak Feeds that the Tomorrow River Valley Conservation Club held at the Amherst Opera House (Amherst Community Hall)? These membership cards signed by Husky Hansen were found in a drawer in the Ticket Office.

Many thanks to the members of the Community Choir, Janet Glodowski, and the Variety Productions Crew for such an excellent show this past Saturday. Approximately 450 people attended and enjoyed the three shows. Truly demonstrating why the Amherst WI Opera House is such a wonderful gathering space.
