Building Connections Through Marion Mentoring!💚💛

Today marked the first day of Marion Mentoring, and we love seeing our older and younger Comets come together!

Through this special program, Marion L. Steele High School students visit Nord Elementary during their lunch periods to share a meal, play games, build friendships, and serve as positive role models for our younger Comets.

These moments of connection help build confidence, encourage kindness, and create meaningful relationships across our schools. It's a wonderful example of Comets supporting Comets!

A special thank you to Nord School Counselor Mrs. Kremer and Steele School Counselor Mrs. Cooney for leading this program and creating opportunities for our students to connect and grow together.

A special shout-out to our friends at the Amherst Fire Department for helping our youngest Comets learn about fire safety! 🚒

Each year, firefighters visit students across the grades at Powers Elementary to share safety tips, introduce the gear they wear to fight fires, and give students a chance to explore a fire truck up close!

These visits also help students feel comfortable with firefighters. Seeing their protective gear and learning about their work helps children understand that—even when firefighters look or sound different in their equipment—they are there to help.

Thank you, Amherst Fire Department, for your care, dedication, and commitment to keeping our students and community safe! 💚💛

Thank you to Mrs. Annabell for sharing these photos of her Kindergarten class 📸

Yesterday, Steele High School celebrated girls tennis student-athlete Katelyn Bussard with a special State Send-Off!

Katelyn qualified for the OHSAA State Tennis Tournament this past Saturday and will compete Thursday and Friday in Mason!

Students lined the hallways to cheer her on as the Amherst Marching Comets led her through the school. The celebration wrapped up in the main lobby, where the band played in honor of her outstanding achievement!

Congratulations, Katelyn! Your Comet community is cheering you on! 💚💛
