The Calla Lily House at Cummings Point
The Calla Lily House was established on January 1, 2013. The name Calla Lily was chosen due to its significance in the life of the builders, Patricia and Lou Imbriano. The Calla Lily was the centerpiece of their wedding, having great significance to the beginning of their life as one. The house was also built and established during the 20th Anniversary of their nuptials, representing the longevity of their life together.
The Calla Lily is a symbol of rebirth and new beginnings as well as being known for its long-lasting lifespan and durability. The flower name is associated with magnificent beauty and is often linked with weddings and funerals. These occasions may appear to be ironically associated, however, they represent the beginning & end and an omnipresent circle of life. It should be noted, that the aroma that this flower gives off is fresh and powerful, giving a venue a comforting feel for all its guests.
The Imbriano’s installed a stained glass window of a Calla Lily at the center of the house over looking Baboosic Lake to ensure the flower made a lasting impression on their lives and the lives of others. This translucent window of color and meaning brings together all the positive feelings and symbolism of the Calla Lily - family, the magnificent beauty of the lake, new beginnings, longevity & durability, the welcoming of guests and generational enjoyment and happiness.
