Last w**d for today is Persian Speedwell, also know as birdseye speedwell. While it may look like it was a planted flower it can soon choke out your grass when growing in dense clumps.

Another w**d you may be seeing in your lawn or along sidewalks now is common groundsel also know as "old man in the spring". Groundsel will have yellow flowers soon after starting to grow. The seeds appear like white puffballs easily dispersed by wind.

The warm weather is nice and the w**ds are loving the change! Wonder what you are starting to see in your yard that's not the grass you planted? Let's take a look, starting with Henbit. Henbit is a winter w**d with square stems, leaves are arranged opposite each other along the stem. Flowers are a pink/purple. As we get closer to summer these plants will die until the fall.
