With rain in the forecast, we want to remind everyone that the burn ban is still in effect. Please do not assume that upcoming rain means burning restrictions have been lifted. The burn ban will remain in place until conditions improve and the restriction is officially lifted.

We are also continuing to see smoke settled into the valley.

Even with rain on the way, please continue to follow the burn ban until it is officially lifted.

Early this morning, BR5 deployed as an immediate response to the Grasshopper Fire as part of the Yamhill County Task Force.

This afternoon, HB54 and its crew returned home after nearly two weeks deployed as part of Yamhill County Task Force 25, assisting with State Conflagrations across Oregon.

We are incredibly proud of our members for answering the call to help protect communities across the state while continuing to ensure our own district remained staffed and ready to respond to emergencies here at home.

Just a heads up for our community—if you’ve noticed hazy skies or the smell of smoke today, it’s from wildfires burning across Oregon and Washington. Changing wind patterns are carrying smoke into the Willamette Valley, and smoky conditions may continue over the next several days.

BR5 returned home this afternoon after a week-long deployment, and we want to thank the crew for their dedication and service protecting communities across Oregon.

Not long after BR5 returned, HB54 was deployed as part of the Yamhill County Task Force to assist with the Hagen Fire.

As one crew returns home, another answers the call. We wish the HB54 crew a safe deployment and look forward to welcoming them home soon. Thank you to all of our firefighters and their families for their continued commitment and sacrifice.

Today, the Oregon Department of Forestry raised the fire danger level to HIGH due to warm temperatures and dry conditions. As a reminder, Yamhill County remains under a burn ban.

Please use extra caution with anything that could spark a fire. Even a small ignition source can quickly become a fast-moving wildfire under these conditions.

Yesterday, Amity Fire District responded on a mutual aid request to assist Sheridan Fire District with a multi-alarm wildland fire.

Our crews responded with Engine 5, Water Tender 5 and Water Tender 51 to support fire suppression efforts alongside our neighboring agencies.

We are proud to answer the call when our neighboring communities need assistance. Working together through mutual aid helps ensure the best possible response to emergencies and keeps our communities safe.
