Last week, Amity Fire District hosted a multi-county conflagration drill with fire departments from both Yamhill and Polk counties participating in the training.

The purpose of this training is to help prepare our firefighters with essential skills, coordination, and information needed for the upcoming wildland conflagration season. Trainings like these are critical in ensuring our crews are ready to respond safely and effectively when large-scale wildfires impact our communities.

We would like to thank the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office and Yamhill County Emergency Management for bringing in instructors and helping make this training possible.

We would also like to give a big shoutout to our Auxiliary members and Carlton Fire for preparing dinner and feeding more than 60 participants throughout the event. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this training a success and for your continued commitment to keeping our communities safe.

We’re grateful for our partnership with McMinnville Fire in helping keep M5 staffed here in Amity during the week. Josh and Lynda play a huge role in supporting our fire district and the community members that live within— we appreciate everything they do!

McMinnville Fire District is proud to provide dedicated emergency medical coverage in the Amity area.

Medic 5 is staffed with our single role paramedic crew, Lynda Claypool and Josh Prull. This crew has operated out of Station 5 since January 2025 and is staffed Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This unit placement has improved our ability to reach the southern areas of our Ambulance Service Area (ASA) while also strengthening our partnership with Amity Fire District. This is a joint, no-cost partnership between Amity Fire District and McMinnville Fire District.

Our crews respond to a variety of calls in the Amity area and remain ready to assist neighboring communities at a moment’s notice. We’re committed to ensuring reliable, timely service—no matter where you live in our district.

This recognition marks the 75th anniversary of fire district boards in Oregon—a milestone worth celebrating. The resolution was passed during the 2026 legislative session, with Representative Scharf serving as one of its chief sponsors.

Thank you to all who have served and continue to support our fire districts and communities.
