We had an unwelcome visitor at our Caledonia substation Saturday night. He didn’t survive and knocked out electricity to many people.

Congratulations to Seth Weaver on completion of Electric Cooperatives of Mississippi’s lineman apprentice program also. This program took years of skills training, course work and on the job training .

All of us at Monroe County Electric are very proud of Seth and the accomplishment of earning the title of Journeyman Lineman.

We currently have outages from both our Gattman and Caledonia substations. These are due to damage to TVA transmission lines.

This will be repaired as soon as possible. There is no need to call.

One of our babies is graduating!! JonParker Fikes, son of Jill Fikes will be graduating from Hamilton High School tonight.

All of us at Monroe County Electric are proud of JonParker and all of his accomplishments! He will continue his education at East Mississippi Community College.

We are excited to send Congratulations!! out to Halle Sargent, daughter of Michelle Sargent on her graduation from Smithville High School. All of us at Monroe County Electric Power Association are proud of her accomplishments. She will begin college at Itawamba Community in the fall.
