On August 20th, the Inman Center traveled to Sonnenberg Gardens with lunch at Belhurst Castle and winery.
The meal was delicious, the Castle (not really a castle but a Luxury hotel) and the view over looking Seneca lake was beautiful.
After lunch we travel to Sonnenberg Gardens.
I'll admit I was not eager to go to Sonnenberg Garden. Don't like dirt and haven't met a flower I didn't kill. As part of my position as Director I felt it was part of my duties.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The history surrounding the Garden was amazing. Our guide did a great job of explaining and pointing out everything that Mary Thompson, owner, along with her husband did. There are many gardens with different themes. Her home is beautifully kept up as well as the many Gardens. We were able to sit on one of the porches and take in the beauty of the Gardens.
After the tour we able to do wine tasting, which was enjoyed by all of our travelers.
Search out Basilia Mendez page. She took many beautiful picture!
Post Script -- one of our travelers was 96 years young.
The Inman Center the "IN" place to be.
