Too many people still believe you have to wait 24 hours to report someone missing. That is not true.

Under Suzanne’s Law and federal law, you can report a missing person immediately—and you should. The first hours matter more than anything.

If someone you love is missing, trust your gut. Call. Give as much information as you can. It could make all the difference in bringing them home safely.

Please take a minute to read this and share it. You never know who might need this information.

Today, on Officer Appreciation Day, we want to take a moment from behind the headsets and screens to say thank you.

To the Anaconda Police Department officers: thank you for being the calm in the chaos, the steady voice on the other end of the radio, and the ones who show up—every time—no matter the call, the weather, or the hour. Dispatch sees the unseen side of this job. We hear the stress in your voices, the urgency in your tone, and the quiet professionalism you carry even on the hardest days. Your dedication to this community does not go unnoticed.

To the Montana Highway Patrol, law enforcement officers across the state of Montana and everywhere else: thank you for the miles you cover, the risks you take, and the sacrifices you and your families make. Whether you’re on a lonely stretch of highway, a small-town street, or backing up another agency, your commitment to public safety matters more than words can say.

From dispatch, we see your long shifts, your patience, your compassion, and your resilience. We share the tough calls, the victories, the heartbreak, and the moments that remind us why this job matters. We are proud to work beside you and to have your backs, just as you have ours.

Stay safe, know you are appreciated, and remember—you are never alone on the radio. 💙🚔

Happy Officer Appreciation Day.

Scooter the Elf came to the Police Department last night—and he wasted no time jumping into the action! 🎄✨

He started his shift in the Dispatch Center, answering phone calls and keeping an eye on things like a true pro. From there, he joined our officers to “help” write reports… though we’re pretty sure he added more mischief than paperwork. 😉

And after all that hard work, Scooter even found a moment to build himself a little swing for a well-deserved break. Work–life balance at its finest!🎅🏼🚓📞

👻If you accidentally contact 9-1-1, don't hang up. Stay on the line and let them know that you do not have an emergency. When you hang up, the 9-1-1 telecommunicator will have to call you back in order to ensure you are safe.

🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

September 11th, 2001 is a day etched into the hearts of every firefighter, first responder, and American. Twenty-four years ago, our nation watched in horror as the unthinkable unfolded. In the midst of that tragedy, 343 firefighters, along with law enforcement officers, paramedics, and countless others, made the ultimate sacrifice. Many gave everything trying to bring others to safety, and some fire companies were lost entirely.

For the fire service, 9/11 is more than a date in history — it is a reminder of the true meaning of courage, duty, and sacrifice. Our fallen brothers and sisters walked into danger with no hesitation, knowing the risks, because that is what it means to wear this badge and this uniform. They embodied the highest calling of our profession: to serve and protect others, no matter the cost.

As members of Anaconda Fire Department Local 100, we pause today to honor their memory. We fly our flag high from our ladder truck not just as a symbol of mourning, but of pride — pride in those who served with such bravery, pride in the brotherhood and sisterhood of the fire service, and pride in carrying forward the legacy they left behind.

We also remember the families, friends, and communities who lost so much that day. The pain and loss they endured remind us that service comes with sacrifice, and that freedom, unity, and resilience are values we must never take for granted.

Today, and every day, we commit to never forgetting their names, their courage, and their sacrifice. May their memory continue to guide us, strengthen us, and inspire us to serve with the same selflessness and honor.

Never Forget. Forever Honor.
