Anadarko Public Schools is deeply saddened by the loss of 5th grade teacher Connie Thompson. Connie was known for her kindness, her willingness to help in any situation, and for always seeing the best in every student she taught.

Connie was deeply committed to our Reach Out after-school program and worked tirelessly to ensure its success. She genuinely cared for others and made a lasting impact on the lives of countless students, staff members, and families throughout our community.

Her presence, compassion, and dedication to children will never be forgotten. Connie will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

We ask our Anadarko community to keep Connie’s family, friends, students, and coworkers in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

With deepest sympathy,
Anadarko Public Schools

Anadarko High School Kiowa Language Class visited the Kiowa Elder’s Center on Thursday May 7th to share Kiowa hymns and a special tribute to Mothers and Mother figures for Mother’s Day. They sang 3 Kiowa hymns of encouragement, gave full introductions of themselves, and shared a poem in the Kiowa language about “Mothers.”

The class says àhôdè (ah-ho day) “thank you collectively” to the APS/AHS administration & Indian Education Program as well as the APS Transportation Department for always supporting us in all we do! We’re appreciative to Anadarko Indian Education Program for treating us to a fun and delicious lunch at Pizza Hut!

💜💛 Teacher Appreciation Week at Anadarko Public Schools 💛💜

This week, we proudly celebrate the amazing educators of Anadarko Public Schools who make a difference every single day.

Our teachers go far beyond the classroom—building relationships, inspiring confidence, encouraging growth, and creating spaces where every student feels valued and supported. Their impact reaches well beyond academics, helping shape the future of our students and our community.

To our Anadarko educators: thank you for your dedication, passion, and the heart you bring to your work. We are truly grateful and honored to serve alongside you.

We also encourage our families and community to join us in celebrating! A quick note, kind message, or small gesture can go a long way in showing our teachers just how much they are appreciated.

💜🍎 Thank you for all you do! 💛

Congratulations!
