Caterina’s Club’s hospitality academy program in Anaheim is designed to help students break the cycle of poverty through hands-on job training and mentorship. Created by Chef Bruno Serato, this program gives teens across Orange County access to opportunities they may not otherwise have equipping them with practical skills for long-term success.
As part of our hospitality academy program in Orange County, we partner with local schools, including the Anaheim Union High School District’s P21 Mentorship Program, to offer a structured nine week experience. Students are introduced to the wide range of careers within the hospitality industry and gain valuable insight from professionals working in hotels, restaurants, healthcare, and business environments.
Throughout the program, students receive hands-on training in key areas such as:
• Culinary skills and nutrition
• Restaurant service and operations
• Customer experience and communication
• Marketing and business fundamentals
• Financial literacy and workplace readiness
Beyond technical skills, the program focuses on personal growth-helping students build confidence, responsibility, and a clear vision for their future. It also serves as a safe, supportive after-school environment that keeps teens engaged, motivated, and connected to positive influences in their community.

Although our main focus is children and families, Caterina’s club also serves displaced individuals, first responders, veterans, and anyone else who is in need.

Our mission is to provide warm meals, affordable housing assistance, and job training to homeless and low income family throughout Southern California. Through daily meals, stable, housing support, and career pathways for teens, we aim to bring consistency and opportunity to children and families facing hardship.

Caterina’s Club Welcome Home Program 🏡

Our Welcome Home program is a relocation program for displaced families in Orange County, designed to support parents and children who are ready to transition out of unsafe or unstable, living conditions, including motels vehicles, and on the streets. More families across Orange County have become long-term clients of motels due to rising rents and limited affordable options, despite parents working hard to support their children.

Our Welcome Home program provides first month’s rent and deposit for qualified families, to assist them with the financial burden of saving up for initial move-in costs while living paycheck to paycheck. 1 in three families are basic needs deficient in Orange County, and about 40% of families are cost-burdened by the increasing costs of living and basic needs. Many parents and guardians are hard-working, but to save up to move out of an unstable living condition often means sacrificing food, gas, clothing, and other basic needs that need to function and thrive. Our goal is for qualified families to continue to provide to their children while securing stable and safe housing with this program.

Qualifications:
-One or more children under the age of 18
-Seeking permanent housing in Orange County
-Able to maintain rent after assistance (6 months of employment and steady income)
-Able to find housing without a co-signer

At its heart, the Welcome Home program is about more than just relocating a family, it’s about restoring stability and dignity and hope for families across Anaheim in Orange County.

Over 280 families have been relocated through this program, and remain in safe & permanent housing 🎉

At Caterina’s Club, our mission is to provide warm meals, affordable housing assistance, and job training to homeless and low income families throughout Southern California. This mission is supported by a vision where we create a modicum of consistency in the lives of homeless and severely low-income children through something as simple yet meaningful as a nightly dinner. Quite simply, we strive to provide every child with the resources, love, and encouragement they need to be healthy, safe, and educated.

We carry out our mission through our three programs: Feeding the Kids, Welcome Home, and the Hospitality Academy. Providing over 4,000 hot meals a day through the Feeding the Kids program to over 150 partner agencies, our goal is to decrease the food insecurity many community members face daily. The Welcome Home program provides families in unstable housing a safe space to thrive as a family. We have placed over 280 families in permanent housing in Orange County. 1,150 Anaheim students have graduated from the Hospitality Academy, equipping at-risk youth with essential workforce skills, which helps open doors for employment in the hospitality industry in Anaheim.

We believe every child deserves to feel secure, cared for, and hopeful about their future, and that “no child should go to bed hungry”. Caterina’s Club not only meets the immediate needs of our local community, but creates opportunities for a lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most.
