Video Transcript:

Hello. I am back!
Here is the last DYK...
Maybe some of you wondering if we have ever had a doctor who is Deaf in the United States.
Yes! Literally! "True Biz" (ASL slang)
Like everybody else, there are Deaf people who pursued their career, passed the challenging test and licensed!
The first deaf male and first female doctors are...
Dr. Phillip Zazove
Dr. Judith Pachiarz
Did you know that we have more Deaf doctors?
Some of them are oral.
Some Deaf doctors are fluent in sign language!
Amazing!
Check out more information about Deaf doctors in the America above/below this vlog.
Hey. Wait a second!
Additionally, we even have a DeafBlind doctor!
Literally!
They are in United Kingdom.
The doctor is Alex Adam.
The story about Alex is inspirational!
Wanna know more information about them?
Sure, check out the list!
With the list, is it more than you expect?
In the past, we didn't have any Deaf doctors.
Nowadays, America's societal view have gradually changed. They appear to be a bit open minded and more acceptable.
Cheers!
Those of you who have a passion to become a doctor, go for it!
You can do it!
Thank you for watching our DYK videos this week!

Transcript: In 1988, Gallaudet chose a hearing person to be president. Many people were upset. They wanted a Deaf person to lead the Deaf university. Students and staff protested. They marched, used sign language, and closed the school. They said, “Deaf President Now!” After one week, they won. Gallaudet chose Dr. I. King Jordan — the first Deaf president. This was a big moment for Deaf people. It showed that Deaf people can be leaders.
