📣 2026 CCYPS BUYER PAYMENT REMINDER

Third-notice invoices for outstanding balances from the 2026 Chambers County Youth Project Show were mailed this week.

Most buyers with outstanding balances have also been contacted by email, text message and/or phone in an effort to make sure invoices have been received and to provide an opportunity to resolve any outstanding balance.

If you have not already paid your invoice or made payment arrangements with the CCYPS Office, please take care of your outstanding balance as soon as possible.

❓ What happens next?

After our final collection efforts are complete, unpaid accounts may be referred to the Chambers County Attorney’s Office for collection.

If you have not received your invoice, believe you have already paid, or are unsure whether your payment was received or properly applied, please contact the CCYPS Office. We are happy to review your account and work with you to resolve any questions before additional collection action is taken.

We are incredibly grateful for the businesses, organizations and individuals who support our CCYPS exhibitors each year. Thank you to the overwhelming majority of our buyers who have already fulfilled their commitments and helped make the 2026 show a success! 💚

Our office is regularly open Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. We are technically closed during lunch, but if you let us know in advance, we are happy to make arrangements to stay through lunch.

🌟 Team Member Spotlight 🌟

Our Team Member Spotlight series wouldn't be complete without introducing the person who helps keep it all together.

Meet Robbie King!

Robbie serves as the General Manager of the Chambers County Youth Project Show and brings nearly 20 years of experience in economic and community development to our team. Before joining Chambers County in 2019, Robbie served as the Executive Director of the Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce for 15 years, where she became known for her leadership, event planning expertise, nonprofit management, and passion for serving the community.

Throughout her career, Robbie has specialized in nonprofit and small business advising, budget management, community engagement, and organizing successful events. Those skills make her an incredible leader for the Youth Project Show, where she works year-round to ensure everything is in place for exhibitors, volunteers, buyers, and families to have a successful experience.

But for Robbie, YPS is much more than an event—it's personal.

Years ago, her sons proudly exhibited at the Chambers County Youth Project Show, creating memories that have stayed with their family forever. Today, she has the joy of watching a new generation continue that tradition as her granddaughters, Rylie and Kyler Jade, exhibit lambs and rabbits. Seeing her family come full circle is one of the many reasons YPS holds such a special place in her heart.

The Grand Champion Lamb Buckle is dedicated in memory of Robbie's oldest son, Kyler, serving as a lasting reminder of his love for the Youth Project Show and the impact that their family continues to have on this community.

Outside of work, Robbie has been married to her husband, Wesley, for nearly 40 years. Together they have raised three children and are proud grandparents to several grandchildren who continue their family's legacy of hard work, service, and community involvement.

If you've attended the Youth Project Show, you've probably seen Robbie moving from one task to the next, answering questions, solving problems, encouraging exhibitors, and making sure every detail comes together. Her dedication, leadership, and love for the program are evident in everything she does.

Thank you, Robbie, for your unwavering commitment to the Chambers County Youth Project Show and for helping create the same unforgettable memories for today's exhibitors that your own family experienced years ago. ❤️

🕰️ THROWBACK THURSDAY: YPS HISTORY!

Did you know the Chambers County Youth Project Show used to have a parade?! 🤯

We didn’t either — until we came across these incredible photos from 1965, courtesy of Bobby Hall! Just one more piece of YPS history we’re excited to rediscover and share.

The Chambers County Youth Project Show traces its roots back to July 30, 1955, when members of the East and West Chambers County Farm Bureaus and their families gathered for a community picnic at Fort Anahuac Park. The event brought together families from both sides of the Trinity River and helped inspire the idea for an annual event centered around the youth of Chambers County.

The first Chambers County Youth Project Show was held in 1956 at Fort Anahuac Park, created as a noncommercial event to bring the county together while giving local youth an opportunity to showcase their livestock, projects, talents and skills.

And apparently, somewhere along the way, a YPS parade was part of the tradition! 🐎🚜

These photos from 1965 give us a glimpse into what YPS looked like nearly six decades ago — just nine years after that very first show.

In 1968, YPS moved to White Memorial Park — better known today as White’s Park — where it has been held ever since.

For 70 years, generations of Chambers County kids, families, volunteers, buyers and supporters have carried this tradition forward. The Show may look a little different today, but its purpose remains the same: bringing our county together to support our youth. ❤️

🌟 Team Member Spotlight 🌟

Our Team Member Spotlight series continues with the newest addition to the Chambers County Youth Project Show team.

Meet Skyler Wheat!

Skyler is the newest member of the Department of Economic Development & Grant Management, and we couldn't be happier to have her on our team. If you're from the Winnie area, you may already know Skyler as one of your own!

From day one, Skyler has impressed us with her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. She's a quick study, never shies away from a challenge, and brings an energy to the office that makes every day a little more fun.

During the Chambers County Youth Project Show, Skyler is truly an all-around team player. Rather than having one specific assignment, she's wherever she's needed most—helping exhibitors, assisting volunteers, solving problems, running errands, and jumping in to lend a hand whenever and wherever the need arises. If something needs to get done, chances are you'll find Skyler already on her way to do it.

Outside of work, Skyler has been married to her husband, Zane, since 2025. Together they are raising their son, Jensen, and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of another precious baby boy early next year.

We are so thankful Skyler chose to join our team. Her enthusiasm, servant's heart, and can-do attitude have already made a tremendous impact, and we know she's going to be a big part of the Chambers County Youth Project Show for years to come.

Here’s what’s next! 🌱

Congratulations again to our 2026 Large and Small Animal Scramble participants! Now that you’ve caught your project, it’s time to get ready for the year ahead.

📅 MANDATORY SCRAMBLE MEETING
Scramble participants and a parent or guardian are required to attend our mandatory Scramble Participant Meeting:

Monday, September 14
⏰ 6 PM
📍 White’s Park Community Building
225 White Park Rd.
Anahuac, TX 77514

At the meeting, participants will:
• Review Scramble participant responsibilities and requirements
• Receive their first check
• Have an opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming project year

📝 MONTHLY REPORTS
Beginning after the applicable tag-in, Large and Small Animal Scramble participants are required to submit monthly progress reports to the CCYPS Office. These reports help document the progress of your project throughout the year.

📒 RECORD BOOK
At the end of the project period and prior to the 2027 YPS, each Scramble exhibitor must submit a record book documenting their complete project—from start to finish.

Please mark your calendars and make plans to attend! We’re excited to follow our Scramble participants as they grow their projects throughout the year. 🌱
