New burn restrictions in Pierce County.

Yesterday during a regular scheduled meeting the Pierce County Commissioners issued Burn Restrictions. This requires all controlled burns to be reported by calling (701)776-5245. Other restrictions take effect when the daily index rating is high, very high, extreme and/or when a red flag warning has been issued. For details on restrictions and the index rating visit www.ndresponse.gov. These restrictions expire 10/31/2026 and exclude the cities of Balta, Rugby and Wolford.

This Saturday April 5th we will be hosting the Central Dakota Firefighters Association training on Agriculture Entanglement. This covers auger's, gears, and other entanglements. The North Dakota Firefighter's Association will be conducting this training.

Drake Volunteer Fire Department , Harvey Fire and Rescue, Butte Fire Department, Fessenden Fire & Rescue - Fessenden, ND Bowdon Fire Protection District Mcclusky Fire Department, Anamoose Fire Dept will all be in attendance.

Ambulance members are also welcome to attend.

Fire departments are encouraged to bring your rescue equipment and trucks.

Please register for the class on the NDFA website.

This will be at the Mike Richter Farm North of Goodrich. 1261 18th Ave NE, Goodrich, ND 58444

Yes you will need full gear! Including eye and hand protection.

The class will start promptly at 8:30am and be done around 1pm. With a meal included.

📣 UPDATE - ATTENTION PLEASE 📣

The planned maintenance previously scheduled for tomorrow morning has been postponed to March 12, 3-5 a.m. CST. It is now expected to only impact landlines using North Dakota Telephone Company (NDTC) as their service provider. Cell phones will still be able to connect as normal.

The maintenance will result in a temporary 911 outage in Griggs, Foster, Wells, Sheridan, and possibly McHenry Counties for landlines utilizing NDTC lines.

If you experience an emergency during this time, use a cell phone, or please call 701-328-9921 or 1-800-472-2121 from your NDTC landline.
