McClure/Schnepp cemetery, rural Oxford Jct. Please note that this cemetery is very remote and you need permission from landowners before attempting to get there. Often this cemetery was called the "Children's Cemetery" since all but one grave is young children. Rumor is that in those days the children who died were transported down the river in a boat, then unloaded and carried up the hill to be buried. It was believed that the land would hold the disease, while the river would take any germs away. Some stones are just a piece of stone, with no name.
