Cedar/Jones Early Childhood Iowa "Every Child, beginning at birth will be healthy and successful."

The purpose of Early Childhood Iowa (formerly Community Empowerment) is to create a partnership between communities and state government to improve the well being of families with children 0-5 years old. This initiative allows citizens to decide what is best for children and their families in their own communities and how best to use Early Childhood Iowa funds granted to local areas.

Child abuse goes beyond external cuts and bruises; the effects aren’t always easy to see, and during Child Abuse Prevention Month, the local children’s aid society has been working to inform the public of the signs that a child has been hurt or neglected.
