🚨 Beware of payroll theft via phishing! 🚨
Cybercriminals are targeting employees through phishing scams to commit payroll theft. This form of fraud can have devastating consequences for individuals and the university alike.
💔 Impact of payroll phishing scams:
• Stolen wages and financial losses for employees.
• Compromised credentials allowing access to other systems.
• Breach of sensitive employee data, leading to further risks.
⚠️ How payroll phishing happens:
• Scammers impersonate trusted entities to deceive employees.
• Fake emails or websites are used to steal login credentials.
• Unauthorized access to payroll systems allows theft of funds and personal information.
✅ Protect yourself:
• Be cautious of emails asking for sensitive data. Verify authenticity before clicking links or sharing information.
🚓 Reporting:
• If you believe you are a victim of any crime, we encourage you to report the issue to the University Police Department right away. We can be reached by calling 907-786-1120.

A determination about campus operations will be made by 6 a.m. tomorrow for Tuesday, Jan. 7. If campus is closed tomorrow, you will receive a communication from the UAA Incident Management Team. If operations continue as normal, no communication will be sent.
