This is my daughter and my nephew playing in the creek right behind our house in Scenic Foothills.

JBER wants to tear out this exact wetland area—where our kids play, moose walk through, and salmon fry live—and replace it with a 7-foot chain-link fence topped with razor wire plus a 30-foot cleared “security zone.”

They already have thousands of acres of remote mountain training land. There is zero need to turn our peaceful neighborhood into a prison yard. This is wrong; it will destroy property values, harm critical wildlife habitat, and look like an internment camp right next to family homes.

The public comment period ends May 30.

We support real security—not turning Anchorage neighborhoods into a militarized zone. Please share if you agree this is overreach.

God bless America!

PUBLIC NOISE NOTICE May 06 - May 15

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska — Residents on and near Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson can expect increased exercise activity to include controlled detonations, Giant Voice mass notification system messages, increased aircraft activity, traffic pattern changes, and drone sightings. This activity is part of regularly scheduled and pre-planned training. The various exercises taking place on JBER will increase noise and air traffic for the surrounding communities and the Joint Pacific-Alaska Range Complex. Residents can expect traffic delays and unexpected gate closures during this time.

Members of the community can submit concerns through our website, by email at [email protected], or by phone at 907-551-8996.
